Bringing home a Maine Coon kitten is exciting — and we believe the process should feel clear, personal, and stress-free from the very first message. Here’s exactly how adoption works at Maine Coon Kitten Corner, step by step, so you know what to expect at every stage.
Start by visiting our Available Kittens page to see who’s currently looking for a home, or check our Upcoming Litters page if you’d like to reserve from a future pairing. Each kitten’s profile includes photos, date of birth, sex, color, and availability status. Don’t see the color or sex you’re hoping for? Join our waitlist — we’ll notify you when a matching kitten arrives.
Once a kitten catches your eye (or your heart), fill out our short adoption application. We ask a few questions about your home, family, other pets, and what you’re looking for in a companion. This isn’t about judging anyone — it helps us match each kitten’s personality to the right household, and it’s how we keep our kittens out of the wrong hands. We review applications in the order received and typically respond within 24–48 hours.
After your application is approved, we’ll set up a conversation — phone or WhatsApp, whatever works for you. This is your chance to ask us anything, learn more about the kitten (and parents), and hear how our cats live. Ask us questions — lots of them. We love talking about our cats.
Ready to commit? A non-refundable deposit reserves your kitten and removes them from the available list. The deposit counts toward the total adoption fee, with the balance due at pickup or before delivery. You’ll receive a written reservation confirmation and a copy of our adoption contract to review — including our health guarantee and spay/neuter agreement — so there are no surprises later.
Kittens stay with us until they’re at least 10 weeks old — Maine Coons develop slowly, and this time with mom and littermates is essential for their health and confidence. While you wait, we keep you close: regular photo and video updates, milestone news, and answers to any questions as you prepare your home. Many families tell us this waiting period, watching their kitten grow week by week, is one of their favorite parts.
During this time, your kitten receives age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a full veterinary health check.
When your kitten is ready, we’ll arrange the handoff:
Local pickup — collect your kitten from us in person and see our home for yourself.

Your kitten goes home with a starter package: vaccination and health records, veterinary health certificate, a supply of the food they’re used to, a comfort blanket carrying familiar scents, TICA registration paperwork (provided per our spay/neuter agreement), and your signed contract with written health guarantee.
Adoption day isn’t goodbye — it’s the start of a relationship. We check in after your kitten settles in, and we remain available for questions about feeding, grooming, behavior, or anything else for the life of your cat. Once you adopt from Maine Coon Kitten Corner, you’re part of the family. And yes — we absolutely want the photo updates.
